Artist’s Statement

The following Bill Austin story appeared on the Airedale-List on New Year’s Eve honoring the changing of the year, the beginning of a new century, and a new millennium. When I read Bill’s incredibly outrageous story my mind filled with images. I asked him if he would allow me to illustrate it and display it on AIRElink. Of course, Bill had no idea what this would mean. When images become unleashed from within my mind the possibilities are limitless. Because of the treatment of the story in visual terms, some tricky editorial maneuvers had to be accomplished. Sherry Rind’s incredible expertise as editor of “the Aftermath” helped develop continuity between text and picture plane. “Thank doG for Sherry Rind!” After two months of work the following fully illustrated “the Aftermath” has arrived on AIRElink for your viewing pleasure.

I have produced a storyboard poster of “the Aftermath” that will be made available as an Airedale Rescue fund raiser. In honor of our champagne opening we will be awarding this limited edition poster to the winners of our email drawing. To be considered for a free storyboard poster print with archival quality inks please submit an email response at Charlie’s puppy picture with your address and any comments you may have in regards to “the Aftermath” project.
